The IUSCA is delighted to announce the International Conference on Strength and Conditioning, featuring keynote presentations by industry leading experts such as Ron McKeefery, Bryan Mann, Paul Comfort, Stephanie Mock, JB Morin, Richard Blagrove, Damian Harper, and John McMahon.

About the Event
The IUSCA International Conference on Strength and Conditioning will be held at Leeds Beckett University, in the UK, on Friday 6th June 2025. It will be the biggest single-day S&C event in the UK and will feature some of the leading names in the field of S&C and Sorts Performance from around the world.
​
Expect 8 keynote presentations, including practical sessions and roundtable discussions. There will also be unmatched opportunity for networking within the multi-million-pound, state-of-the-art Carnegie School of Sport building.

Lunch, snacks, and refreshments will also be included as part of the admission fee.

Keynote Speakers
Bryan Mann
Texas A&M University
​
Dr. Bryan Mann is a Clinical Associate Professor in Kinesiology at Texas A&M University after serving as an Associate Professor, Director of Sports Science for Olympic Sports and Exercise Physiology program director at the University of Miami. He has also served as a coach, researcher and educator at various institutions, including Southwest Missouri State University, Arizona State University, the University of Tulsa and the University of Missouri. Mann's commitment to strength and conditioning has contributed to popularizing auto-regulation training methods, including velocity-based training and progressive resistance exercise protocols, which help athletes improve their strength and power. He has also consulted for professional sports organizations and worked with student-athletes who went on to compete in the Olympics. Bryan is also a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA.
Ron McKeefery
University of Alabama

Ron is Internationally recognized as a leader in the area of sports development. Ron has twice been named Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. Currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach at University of Alabama Football, Ron was previously the Head of S&C for the University of Washington Huskies. Previously, Ron was also the Assistant Athletics Director for Fresno State University, and has served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at both the Professional and Collegiate level. Working with such professional organizations as the: Cincinnati Bengals (NFL), Kansas City Royals (MLB), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL). Ron is also a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA.

JB Morin
University of Saint-Etienne
​
Jean-Benoit (JB) Morin is Full Professor at the University of Saint-Etienne (France), Director of the Sports Science Department, and a member of the Interuniversity Laboratory of Human Movement Biology (LIBM). He is also associate researcher with the Sports Research Institute New-Zealand (SPRINZ) at Auckland University of Technology, and visiting Professor in Locomotion Biomechanics at the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Science at Loughborough University. JB’s field of research is mainly human locomotion and performance, with specific interest in running biomechanics and maximal power movements (sprint, jumps). He has edited a textbook (Biomechanics of Training and Testing, 2018) and published over 170 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He is also a consultant for professional athletes and sport organisations and federations, and is recognised as a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) by the IUSCA.
Stephanie Mock
Housten Astros
Stephanie Mock is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Houston Astros. Before joining the Astros, she served as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance at the University of Pittsburgh. She previously spent three years as Director of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning at Mississippi State and five years at Clemson University in various S&C roles. A former collegiate volleyball player at West Virginia University, she holds an SCCC certification and a master’s in human resource development from Clemson. Mock is a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA.

Paul Comfort
University of Salford
​
Paul Comfort is a Professor of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Salford (UK) and an adjunct professor at Edith Cowan University (Australia). Paul is a founder member and accredited member of the UKSCA and was a board member of the NSCA from 2020-2023. He regularly consults with numerous team sports in the UK and USA and has authored / co-authored ~200 peer reviewed journal articles. Paul is also co-editor of the textbooks, ‘Advanced Strength and Conditioning: an evidence-based approach’, ‘Performance Assessment for strength and Conditioning’, ‘Laboratory Manual for Strength and Conditioning’ and recently edited the 2nd edition of the ‘Developing Power’ text for the NSCA. Paul is also a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA.
Richard Blagrove
Loughborough University
​
Richard is a Senior Lecturer in Physiology and Director of Studies for Postgraduate Programmes at Loughborough University. His research focuses on endurance running performance, particularly how strength training improves metabolic efficiency and the impact of low energy availability on musculoskeletal health. A Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA, he is also an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (UKSCA) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA). With 15+ years of coaching experience, he has worked with elite endurance runners who have medalled at major international championships. In 2015, he authored Strength and Conditioning for Endurance Runners, highlighting how non-running exercises enhance performance.​
Damian Harper
University of Central Lancashire
​
Damian has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles on deceleration and braking performance, pioneering some of the first athlete profiling methods in this area. His work has gained global recognition, leading him to consult and provide professional development for top organizations, including The English Football Association (The FA), English Premier League (EPL) and Championship clubs, Premiership Rugby, the NFL, and the NBA. He has also collaborated with leading sports organizations and technology companies worldwide.

John McMahon
Hawkin Dynamics
​
Dr. John McMahon is the Director of Research and Education at Hawkin Dynamics and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Salford, where he spent over a decade as a biomechanics researcher and educator. He has authored over 100 journal articles and presented his force assessment research at major international conferences in strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and sports science. Since 2008, John has utilized sports technology to assess athletes and has led Hawkin Dynamics force plate assessments at 25 professional football and rugby clubs since 2021. In 2023, he was named NSCA Educator of the Year and currently serves on the NSCA Foundation’s grant committee.
